Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Arxhold Technologies, Inc. (“Arxhold”, “we”) collects when you use our escrow platform, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language on purpose.
In short: we collect what's needed to hold funds safely, verify identities, and run inspections and disputes. Money is held by licensed payment partners — never on our balance sheet — and we never sell your personal data.
1 · Information we collect
We collect information you give us, information generated as you transact, and a limited amount collected automatically:
- Account details — name, email, phone number, password (hashed), and any linked social sign-in provider.
- Identity data — government ID, selfie, and where applicable BVN/NIN, submitted to our KYC providers to verify you (see §3).
- Transaction data — deal terms, item descriptions, prices, counterparties, milestones, inspection reports, photos, and dispute evidence.
- Payment data — handled by our payment partners; we store references and payout status, not full card numbers.
- Device & usage data — IP address, device identifiers, push tokens, and app interaction logs used for security and reliability.
2 · How we use it
We use your information to:
- Open, fund, inspect, release, and settle escrow transactions.
- Verify identity and prevent fraud, money laundering, and abuse.
- Match verified agents to physical-goods inspections by proximity.
- Operate disputes and appeals, and produce the signed audit trail.
- Send transactional notifications by email and push, and respond to support requests.
We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not sell it.
3 · Identity & KYC
Both parties verify identity before a deal can open. Identity checks are performed by regulated providers — Smile Identity (Nigeria-first default) and Stripe Identity (alternate regions). Documents you submit are processed by these providers under their own terms and returned to us as a pass/fail result plus limited verified attributes. Agents undergo the same verification plus background documentation before they may take a job.
4 · Payments & custody
Arxhold is not a bank. Funds are held by licensed payment partners — Flutterwave (default) and Stripe (alternate) — until release, never operationally touched by us. Those partners process your payment details directly and are independent controllers of that data under their own privacy policies. We retain an immutable ledger of movement references so your audit trail is complete.
5 · How we share data
We share the minimum necessary with:
- Counterparties & agents — the details relevant to your shared transaction (e.g. item, meeting logistics, inspection outcome).
- Service providers — payment partners, KYC providers, cloud storage (AWS S3), email/push delivery, and error monitoring, each bound by contract.
- Authorities — where required by law, valid legal process, or to prevent harm and fraud.
6 · Retention
We keep transaction and audit records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax, and anti-fraud obligations. You may close your account at any time; some records are retained afterward where the law requires.
7 · Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Exercise any of these by emailing us — we verify the request and respond within the time your local law allows.
8 · Security
Passwords are hashed, transport is encrypted, and every material action in a transaction is timestamped and cryptographically signed. Access to production data is limited and logged. No system is perfectly secure, but security is the core of what we sell — not an afterthought.
9 · International transfers
We operate across borders and support 14 currencies. Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including by our providers. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
10 · Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email, and the version and date at the top will always reflect the current text.
11 · Contact
